Shamanism is an ancient form of spiritual healing, practiced for 20,000 years in virtually every culture of the world. The Shamanic Training Course provides thorough instruction in the contemporary shamanic work developed by Joan Forest Mage. Combining practices of shamanism from many cultures, the program trains students to create safe, effective and powerful healing ritual. It is for the serious student of shamanism, who wants to practice healing for both self and others.
In this Course, you will learn shamanic journey meditation, how to contact your power animals, spirit guides, and nature spirits, and how to do energy work and soul healing. There are required readings, and assignments to do in between class meetings. Prerequisites: one of Joan’s general shamanic workshops, such as Drumming The Chakras, and/or teacher consent.
The Shamanic Training Course is one section of a two-year professional training program called the Healing Ritual Training Program (HRTP). HRTP training is accepted as a major component of the work towards a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Professional Studies from De Paul University School for New Learning. Graduates of HRTP can also apply for certification as an Expressive Arts Therapist through the National Association of Expressive Arts Therapy and join the Society for Shamanic Practitioners.

About the instructor
Miles Maeda is renowned for his creative work as a musician and dJ. In 1993 he turned to yoga and meditation to learn about health and wellness, to deepen a connection with his creative energies, as well as train in the disciplines of the esoteric arts.
He finished this formal training with his teacher Murshida Rudi Kadre in 1998, completing a comprehesive course in Hatha, Kundalini, Tao & Tibetan yogas and the paths of Tantra and Sufism (www.libertyadvance.org ). Level 1: The Crystal Bridge Is Gemstone Folklore Myth, Magic or Truth?Gemstone healing is rooted deeply within the spiritual sciences of Ayurvedic, Tibetan and Anthroposophic medicine. The "Jewels" offers a bridge connecting the pure physical bimolecular science to the intuitive metaphysical science. Join author Dawn Silver in an exploration of this relationship through gemstone traditions. Participate in a healing meditation and divination using the principles found in her book and oracle.
Level 2: Learn the Ancient Art of Bodywork- Healing with Crystals, Jewels and Stones! Learn the ancient art of Gemstone Bodywork and Healing through the seven chakras. We will learn techniques such as the Peruvian Scanning and Drawing exercise to scan for potential problems, pulling pain out of joints and learning crystal reflexology. Hands on work! Class fee includes a full chakra set of crystals and two clear quartz points.
