RE: HEALTH CARE JUSTICE ACT ( HB 2268)
As part of our ongoing commitment to creating affordable and accessible health care for our members as well as the community as a whole, we urge you to contact State of Illinois Senate President Emil Jones at either 312-814-2075 (T) / 217-782-2728 (T); 217-782-3242 (F) or pervin@sendem.state.il.us (e-mail) and let him know that you would like him to extend the deadline of the HEALTH CARE JUSTICE ACT ( HB 2268) until the end of this year.
PLEASE LET HIM KNOW BY MAY 15, 2003.
WHAT IS THE HEALTH CARE JUSTICE ACT ( HB 2268) ?
Passage of THE HEALTH CARE JUSTICE ACT ( HB 2268) will create a bipartisan Health Care commission whose purpose is to hold public hearings in at least ten different geographical locations around the State of Illinois in order to consult with Health Care Providers, Health Care Consumers and Others interested in presenting their views on comprehensive Health Care Planning.
When this has been accomplished, a report will be issued which contains an analysis comparing each of the different proposals submitted to the committee in the interest of achieving universal health care coverage as well as an assessment of Health Care Reforms, Health Care Delivery Models and Health Care Financing.
Once plans have been chosen for consideration and implementation, public hearings will again be held so that the residents of the state can be made aware of the proposals and their contents with regards to the impact that each may have on the quality, cost and availability of Health Care Services in the State of Illinois.
